Our lovely bride Jaime married her fiancé Kyle on May 31, 2014 at the Assembly of God Church with the reception at Weber’s Inn, both in Ann Arbor.

Jaime grew up outside of Charleston, South Carolina and attended the University of Virginia. She moved to Ann Arbor in 2007 and works for St. Joseph’s Mercy Hospital as a research coordinator in the Oncology Research Department. Kyle is a home-grown Michigan guy from Pewamo who attended Kettering University where he studied computer science and engineering. He currently works as a software developer in Ann Arbor.

Jaime and Kyle met at church and decided to get to know each other better by taking an online biblical Greek course. After many weekly study sessions at the library, they talked more, shared more and fell in love. Ahhhh…

And that brings us to her stunning wedding gown by Kelly Faetanini. Kelly grew up in Sandusky, Ohio and went on to Chicago to study design. Jaime wore one of our favorite Kelly Faetanini creations. The style name is Nikola and is made of a metallic guipure lace. It is a fit-to-flare style with an optional detachable lace neckline.

Jaime told us a bit about her appointment: “I don't remember exactly how many dresses I put on. I had tried on a few at another store and my dad insisted that he take me to Mimi's. There, we grabbed a handful, probably 6 to 7. The dress I chose was near the last of the handful, but when I put it on, it was SO unique. It stood out! It is so elegant and timeless and the style so fitting for me. It's beautiful, well-made, artistic, and lasting. Before saying yes, I had multiple people view it who confirmed that it was ‘the one’.”

At our wedding, many people commented on my gown and said it was the most intricate they’d ever seen. It was so much fun to wear! And Mimi’s alterations department made it fit so well.

Mimi’s is very fashionable and the consultants are so helpful. They were so patient with my anxiety over finding the right gown. They took the extra time to make sure that I was confident in the dress.

And an interesting tidbit about the gown…my dad had the gown cleaned and preserved for me. The cleaning company actually contacted him to ask more details about it. They admired it so much they wanted to do a blog piece on it!

Jaime, we love claiming you as one of our brides. And we’re so happy that you made us a part of your wedding gown search.
