When I first met Polly as her bridal consultant, I felt like I was in a room full of sunshine. Her smile and laughter were contagious, which made for a really warm and fuzzy appointment. Even her mom and maid of honor filled the room with fun. And, oh, how I tried to make the appointment last but Polly fell in love with the very first gown she tried on!
She chose a gown by designer Allure, style #8917. It’s strapless with a scooped neckline, fit and flare style with delicate lace appliques and a satin ruched waistband with Swarovski crystals. Polly looked simply gorgeous in it! Here’s what she told me about her appointment:
"Funny enough, the dress I bought was the first dress I tried on and wasn’t even a dress that I had chosen. My consultant pulled it and suggested it would look good on me. I was hesitant because I thought I wanted a ball gown silhouette, but I trusted that she knew how a wedding dress would look better than I did! I put the dress on and knew it was perfect. But it was too easy! So, I tried on about 10 more gowns and none of them compared to the first. I put the dress back on, put on the veil and some jewelry. My mom started crying, my maid of honor was crying, and my future mother-in-law said, “John will faint when he sees you.” I knew this was the dress. I felt amazing in it and so confident. I knew John would be speechless and couldn’t wait to have him see me on our wedding day. I kept everything about the gown an absolute secret and the look on his face when he saw me walking down the aisle was well worth it. The first thing he said to me when I reached him at the altar was “You look so beautiful!”

Polly grew up in Adrian, MI and returned to the area from Phoenix, AZ 4 years ago. She got her BA from Purdue University and her MA from the University of North Texas. She is a Business Systems Analyst at the University of Michigan.
Her groom, John, grew up in Maumee, OH and had retuned to Michigan two years ago from South Carolina. He is a full-time student at Jackson College in Vascular Sonography. He’s also a dad to three wonderful children ages 9, 7, and 5. Polly said she knew on her first date that it was “something amazing”. And one month later he asked her to marry him! She said, “We both knew immediately that we had found something very special in each other.” Their wedding took place on July 19, 2014 at the First Presbyterian Church in Adrian with the reception at Siena Heights College.

A few more kind words from Polly:
"I loved everything about Mimi’s bridal from the first visit to the final fitting. They were so helpful, easy to work with, and really ensured that the gown looked perfect on me. As a plus-sized bride, I was very worried about finding a flattering gown and ensuring that the seamstress was attentive to making the dress fit well. I was so happy with the end results and how well the gown fit and flattered my hourglass figure. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. My mom even purchased her gown there and had an equally satisfying experience. She looked amazing on the wedding day!"

Polly, we are honored that you chose Mimi’s Bridal Boutique for your wedding gown. And I will never forget our appointment together. Best wishes for a lifetime of happiness.
