To celebrate Chinese New Year 2015, we’re highlighting our gorgeous Chinese bride, Jun. I’m obsessed with her wedding photos! I never saw so much color! And check out Jun’s procession aisle…it looks like a fashion runway and she’s the model wearing the latest high-end wedding gown.

Jun married Andrew last December surrounded by her family and friends in Linyi, Shandong, China. Her lace sheath gown named Nicole by couture designer Amsale was a knockout! I asked Jun why she chose this gown and here’s what she had to say:
I tried on about 20 gowns. There were several I liked yet there was always something that didn't feel right - until I put on this one. I just did not want to take it off! Everything was perfect: the shape, the fabric, and the details. Because my family was in China, they were not able to accompany me. But when I saw myself in the mirror, I knew this was “The One”. And I knew everyone back home would love it. I thought it was a WOW dress, especially when viewing the back of it. At my wedding, people couldn’t take their eyes off of it!

Jun is a professor at the University of Michigan Ross School of Business. She received her doctorate from The University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School of Business. She met Andrew at a happy hour held by Wharton at a restaurant called Tap House. Jun told me there was a crowd of people at this function, yet when she entered, she saw only one person. She felt like she already knew him and walked directly to him, like being drawn by an invisible force. The rest is history.

This story makes me realize how global our world really is: Chinese girl meets boy in Philadelphia, moves to Midwest and buys Ethiopian designer gown for wedding back in China. What a cool world we live in.
Jun, we’re very happy you walked into our salon and we had the gown that you were looking for. We wish you many years of happiness in your new life with Andrew.
