Meet Heidi: Simply Gorgeous in Augusta Jones

Heidi married Shawn on October 11th at the Wild Wood Family Farm in Grand Rapids, MI. When I saw her photos, all I could think of was simply gorgeous – hair, make up and a gown that looks as if the bride was poured into it.

This is another bride who tried on about 30 dresses before finding “The One”. After several stores, she tried on Augusta Jones’s Lucille and wore it around the salon for about 30 minutes, trying on every possible accessory. Her family asked her if this was her dress but she wasn’t ready to say yes. Yet, at the next salon, she didn’t feel like trying on any more gowns. It was then that she realized she had found what she was looking for.

Heidi told us, “When I tried in on again before buying it, I didn’t want to take it off! It was a perfect mix of romantic lace while still being modern and classic. I wanted a dress that was current but still classic and the gown that I picked really had it all. And later, my mom pointed out that it looked exactly like the only dress I pinned on Pinterest.”

Heidi shared with me that every time she tried on the dress during alterations, she didn’t want to take it off. She said, “Even after the wedding, many of our guests went to the hotel bar. I wore my gown until the bar closed!”

Our bride grew up in Oroville, California and attended Johnson and Wales University in Denver where she studied event management. She’s an event/restaurant manager in Bloomfield Hills, MI. Shawn is a Michigan guy from Fraser. He also attended Johnson and Wales and studied culinary nutrition. He’s an executive chef in Birmingham, MI. The couple was together in college but split up after two years. Four years later, they met up in Chicago to see if the spark was still there. The rest is history.

I’ll end with some words of advice from Heidi for future brides. “Getting married was not that stressful for me. Looking your best goes a long way to feeling your best. And at my wedding, I felt and looked amazing!”

We love your confidence, Heidi. And we’re happy that an Augusta Jones gown made you feel special. Congratulations to you and Shawn. We wish you many happy years together.
