The moment Alexandrea stepped into Mimi's she knew this is where she'd be buying her wedding gown. She felt so welcomed and comfortable by the staff...And a beautiful decor doesn't hurt.

"I love how all of the women really paid attention to detail and helped me find the perfect dress."

The perfect dress came in the form of 'Londyn' by Hayley Paige: a stunning strapless ballgown with a sweetheart neckline, crossover bodice and a full skirt of uneven tulle flounces with horsehair edging. It's the perfect combination of youthfulness and class. A beaded veil and crystal belt completed her wedding day ensemble. Alexandrea had heard horror stories about ill-fitting wedding gowns and unhappy brides who were forced to have alterations done somewhere other than the shop where they initially made their purchase. Lucky for Alexandrea, Mimi's has in-house alterations.

"I could tell everyone wanted to make sure the dress fit perfectly and they wouldn't let you walk out with it unless it did."

When she did leave after her final fitting, as on the day of her wedding, her dream gown fit perfectly, like a glove.

Alexandrea and Michael both grew up in Lansing, Michigan and it was in middle school that the two met. A few years down the road, Michael attended Michigan State University (MSU) for college, studying communications, while Alexandrea attended Douglas J Aveda Institute for cosmetology and cosmetology instructing. They are using their education and degrees, as they are both bloggers; Alexandrea's blog and YouTube channel focuses on beauty, fashion and lifestyle. So, naturally when it came to picking her gown it could be nothing less than fashion-forward, fun and flirty with a touch of uniqueness.

Many years after meeting in middle school, the couple took a family vacation to Disneyworld, where Michael proposed during the fireworks display. What other way to make a proposal memorable than with fireworks? What a special moment for the happy couple to share.

Let's jump ahead to June 20th, 2015, the wedding day. The ceremony took place in East Lansing on MSU's campus at St. John Student Parish. They chose the perfect venue for the reception: the Lansing Country Club. It captured the grand and elegant feel Alexandrea loved and wanted to create for her guests. She wanted to make sure everyone was comfortable, having fun and enjoying the day.

"It was the best day ever! I loved every second of it [...] It was amazing to have everyone we love all together!"

If there is one word that would best describe all that day encompassed it would be 'perfect'.

"I loved seeing the reaction on Michael's face when he saw our reception venue. I spent SO much time on flowers and decor and we really transformed the space. He was so impressed and loved it! I loved seeing how it all came together too."

Alexandrea's advice to other brides,

"Enjoy every step of the process! [...] make sure your guests will be as comfortable as possible!"
