Samantha and Blair met in Spanish class while they were still in high school. Over the course of the next few, short years Samantha graduated from Michigan State University with a degree in Human Biology, got engaged to Blair, had a baby and they were married June of 2018. Quite the collection of milestones and accomplishments and all very exciting!

Blair set up a private wine tasting for just him and Samantha at their favorite winery in California. The tasting was held on a balcony overlooking the vineyard and winery. It was the perfect setting for Blair to propose. Blair even had a photographer nearby to capture the moment.

Their wedding took place at the Diamond Center at Suburban Collection in Novi, Michigan.

“We picked that location because it was central to our families and friends at home and those coming from out of town and they had a ceremony location, catering and hotel all on-site! It was so convenient and the staff was amazing!”

The ceremony was held outside and what is the one fear of brides who have outdoor weddings? Rain. Yes, it rained on Samantha and Blair’s wedding day. It was a hot and humid June day with the added gift of showers. Samantha is well aware of the old saying, ‘Rain on your wedding day is good luck’ and as Luck would have it, about twenty minutes before the ceremony began, the clouds parted and the sun came out. And as an added special surprise from Blair, he had fireworks go off at the end of the night.

What are Samantha’s words of wisdom for future brides?

“[Don’t] get so stressed during the wedding planning phase. It can be tough at times trying to plan the perfect day, but let people help you and enjoy it […] with your partner.”

In the search for her wedding gown, Mimi’s was Samantha’s first bridal appointment. The gown that was ‘The One’ was the fifth gown she tried on. Samantha was four months pregnant at the time and her bridal consultant worked closely with her to find the perfect gown.

“I knew my Hayley Paige gown was the one when I started crying…!”

Samantha’s gown was ‘Dare’ by Hayley Paige, a solid ivory organza ballgown with a skirt of full flounces, ruched V-neckline, large beads and stones over the shoulder that follow the V-back with V-shaped cutouts under the arms and curved cutouts on the back.

“My dress made me feel so beautiful on my wedding day and I received so many compliments on it. I have the staff at Mimi’s to thank. We had a lot of alterations because of my postpartum figure and ordering while I was pregnant. […] everyone I worked with was so helpful and truly wanted me to look my best and feel comfortable in my gown.”
