Katelynne and Jeff: Everyone Connected

Katelynne, from Michigan, and Jeff, from Wisconsin, attended Western Michigan University and met at a college flag football game. They must have hit it off because the flag football game was followed by Apples to Apples. And you don’t play Apples to Apples with just anyone 😉
As time went by and as their relationship progressed, Jeff knew it was time. After having dinner with their families, the couple made their way down by the river in Dundee. As they walked along the river they decided to have a photo taken. At some point in the photo-taking process Katelynne had her back turned to Jeff. When she turned back around he was on one knee and across the river a group of their family and friends held up large letters that spelled out her name.
“It was great to have some of my friends and family there to celebrate the event with us, especially our two big dogs!”
The Dearborn Inn was chosen as the venue for their wedding not only because it holds historic prominence, but also personal history for Katelynne - her baptism and confirmation celebrations were held there. This grand hotel is like stepping back in time. Its magnificent architecture and ballroom elegance made the perfect setting for this couple’s big day.
A hundred gowns into the search and Katelynne was discouraged. She discovered the designer Hayley Paige and was intrigued by her unique and modern designs. Having found out Mimi’s carries Hayley Paige, she made an appointment. Katelynne’s consultant brought her gown after gown but nothing seemed to be quite right. Then came ‘Reagan’.
“I was thinking to myself, ‘No way!’”
But once it was on and zipped up Katelynne knew she had held out for this one.
“It wasn’t what I had envisioned, but that is what made it 100 times better!”
‘Reagan’ is far from ordinary. This gown is by Hayley Paige, obviously, and is a ballgown of a glittery, sparkly, floral, microscopic bead-like fabric. It has a high neckline, tank top cut armholes with spaghetti straps, an open back with visible boning details and layers of organza that peak out on the sides.
Katelynne had a bow tie for Jeff and a traditional tie for her father made from the same fabric as her gown. From her belt, a bracelet was made for her mother. This made sure that on their special day everyone was connected.
Over a hundred dresses later, Katelynne must have some advice:
“Be patient and give yourself enough time not to rush. Go with your gut, because you will know in the end if it is meant to be!”
